Lake Taupo here we come

The Haynor's too are excited about the trip to New Zealand. We are looking forward to catching up with some old friends and seeing the Southern Cross (for the first time?).

Harrison and Toby are looking forward to going to Lake Taupo which was formed by a gigantic volcanic explosion and throwing some pumice rocks in the lake and watching them float away. There aren't too many floating rocks in Wisconsin.

Fortunately in the Southern Hemisphere it is August like weather. Jane has been to the tanning booth in preparation and Eric just plans on slathering himself with SPF50!!

Eleven days until lift off.

Welcome to the kiwiblog | ozblog

Hi everyone. Kevin here to introduce you to our travel web log (or blog). It has been set up so that friends, family and classmates can keep track of our big family vacation to New Zealand and Australia. Each of us traveling (the Andresens from Boston as well as the Haynors from the Twin Cities) will be able to post their own entries -- like a diary -- and each entry will have a comments section that will allow the readers (that's you) to send messages back to us.

Before we leave, we'll post an itinerary and some links to give you all an idea of where we're visiting. Then, while we travel, the plan is to upload journal entries and hopefully some pictures so that folks don't have to wait until we get back to share in our adventure.

Good on ya, mates!
